We have been overwhelmed by positive messages from people who came along to the second Rustick weekend, which took place over the first bank holiday weekend, 3rd-5th May 2019. It may have been on a smaller scale than the first but it was bigger and richer for the enthusiasm, participation and support.

You joined us from the four corners of the UK; Glasgow, Skegness, Newcastle, Bury, to name a few places.

100 of you enjoyed the 14 varied walks over the three days. It is always about inclusion and diversity so there was something for everyone from scenic gentle paces to challenging terrain to test the mettle of the experienced Nordic walkers.
Each walk had to be mapped and checked to make sure it was safe. A big thank you to the Instructors, Walk leaders and volunteers who helped behind the scenes in the lead up to this event and then supported it further throughout the weekend. Without that support it would be impossible to put on such an event. Volunteers are an essential part of our Nordic walking community to keep everyone safe and active. From the bottom of our hearts, again, thank you.
It had huge appeal for those new to Nordic walking so congratulations to those who attended the Beginner course. Just remember, with your Freedom Passport, you can now enjoy many more walks across the UK with our NWUK Delivery partners. Just simply go to our online Find A Class type in a postcode and continue your Nordic Walking adventures. Or, you can go straight to our own Calendar page to see what’s on locally.
Don’t take our word that the weekend was fabulous; here are just a few of the wonderful comments we received. If you also had a fabulous time please do share what you enjoyed with a few words and a photo or two!

“Had a fabulous relaxed walk in Chatsworth Park, Derbyshire. So relaxed that we finished off with a little Tai Chi! Stunning views as always as Chatsworth never fails to impress, lots of deer and sheep in the park. We went to visit Queen Mary’s Bower which was all ready for the Three Day Event in a few weeks time.

Needless to say that a good breakfast was had at Carlton Lees Garden Centre and then refreshments at the Cottage Tra rooms, Edensor. A few cheese scones were tested out here! more for the team”

Andrea Smethurst;  “Definitely up for next year!! Great weekend 2018 and 2019”

Alison Ansell; “Thanks for the two great walks yesterday morning Sam. Scenery was still beautiful, even with the cloud cover. And an excellent idea to have breakfast in between the walks!! Thanks to you and the team for organising – looking forward to our final walk tomorrow before heading south😐😔”

Clare Pickford; “Amazing couple of days. Massive thanks to Samantha ArmstrongJune Holden, Janneke Gorzeman and your wonderful walk leaders. So many walks to choose from and so little time, roll on next year.😊😊😊😊”

Becky Aspinall; “Thankyou for organising a brilliant weekend Sam and the lovely walk at Minninglow. Most impressed by your cow- wrangling too”

Our thanks also go to the wonderful folks who are part of the NWUK #purplepower team and membership.
